Presenter Instructions

Oral Presentations

Preparing your presentation

All session rooms will be equipped with the following and supplied by the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC):

  • data projector
  • laptop (Windows 7)
  • lectern and microphone
  • lapel microphone
  • Remote Logitech

It is recommended that you use the ACC’s laptops and play back devices. If you must use your own laptop, ensure you bring the appropriate adaptors.

Please note that the venue will not provide any technical support for equipment it does not own and maintain.

The preferred method of presentation is via PowerPoint. PowerPoint presentations should be prepared in wide screen 16:9 (not standard 4:3 format). You must bring your presentation to the conference on USB Flash drive for it to be loaded onto the Conference system by an audiovisual technician in the Speaker Support Room. Please have your presentation saved under your last/family name.

On Arrival

Presenters are requested to report to the Speaker Support Room, located in Room L1b, adjacent the registration desk. Your presentation will be uploaded and verified by a technician. If you have a MAC or any special presentation requirements, please see the technical operators in the speaker preparation area for assistance. Meet with your session chairperson in the session room 10-15 minutes prior to the commencement of the session. If at all possible, please check your presentation material in the speaker preparation area well before your presentation time to avoid any problems when you present.

Speaker Support Room –

  • Monday 28 November 0730 – 1730
  • Tuesday 29 November 0800 – 1630
  • Wednesday 30 November 0730 – 1400

 

 

Posters

Poster Presentations

Posters can be A1 portrait or landscape, or A0 portrait only i.e. posters should be no larger than A0 portrait size; 841mm wide [left to right] x 1189mm high [top to bottom]. Please ensure your poster does not exceed 841mm wide. Posters will be displayed at a designated site in the exhibition hall. Staff at the registration desk will provide instructions.

Poster Title

All posters must have a title.

Poster Text

Text lettering should be large enough to be legible at a distance of 1.5 m. Lettering used for titles should be 24point size minimum (Times New Roman or Arial are good fonts to use). Freehand lettering is not recommended. All text must be in English. Photographs and diagrams should be large enough to be read at a distance of 1.5m.

Poster Details

Contact details should be included on the poster.

Hanging and Removing your Poster

Your poster needs to be hung using Velcro (hook, or ‘male’ velcro). You should bring this with you to the Conference.

Posters can be erected between 3:00 – 4:30pm on Sunday 27 November, alternatively, 8.30am and 10.00am on Monday 28 November 2016. Posters must be taken down between 1.30pm and 3.30pm Wednesday 30 November 2016. Poster boards will be velcro compatible.

The organisers accept no responsibility for damage to or loss of posters.
